The team at Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort in northern Thailand has kicked off the year with two new innovative experiences giving guests the chance to enjoy the 160-acre estate from a unique perspective.
Situated on a hill overlooking the Mekong and Ruak rivers near the triple border between Thailand, Laos and Myanmar, the resort is surrounded by acres of pristine jungle that’s criss-crossed with narrow roads and paths leading to spectacular lookouts. Beyond the borders of the resort, the lush, mountainous landscape can be difficult to navigate, but no challenge is too great for the resort’s gleaming Royal Enfield Classic 500 sidecars, which can take guests on an unforgettable ride around the region.
A guided motorcycle tour of the mountainous area of Doi Tung along the Myanmar border will offer a glimpse of local culture in this far northern corner of Thailand, stopping off to visit local markets, ancient temples and the Giant Golden Buddha in nearby Chiang Saen.
The resort has also constructed two new Jungle Bubbles: a unique overnight experience for guests who want to spend a night under the stars without sacrificing creature comforts. The transparent cocoon Bubbles contain 22-sqm of air-conditioned living space, with a king bed and seating area that opens up to the surrounding landscape. Perched on a raised wooden platform overlooking an elephant feeding post, guests in the Jungle Bubbles will have front row seats for late night and early morning visits, providing an intimate encounter with the resort’s 25 resident pachyderms.
