Situated on the edge of a forest, amid vegetable beds, herbs and fruit bushes, The Dolder Grand’s new al fresco summer restaurant, blooms, takes guests on a journey through healthy yet highly innovative vegan and vegetarian cuisine. Using only the best in organic, regional and seasonal ingredients, blooms aims to shine a spotlight on the importance of eating clean, and to address the rising global trend of plant-based diets. Already a revered culinary destination thanks to its two Michelin-starred The Restaurant, and the recent opening of Mikuriya, blooms continues to put the five-star Zurich hotel front and centre on the Switzerland’s culinary map.
Designed in the style of a terrace, blooms kitchen garden seats 36 guests, with chef Heiko Nieder serving light, modern and simple vegetarian and vegan dishes in the flavourful style of The Restaurant, with an array of vibrant colours, flavours and tactile sensations, all accompanied by summer garden vibes and a crisp glass of rosé. The new garden restaurant will be open from June through to September, to capitalise on Switzerland’s summer, with awnings sheltering the tables and kitchen to ensure any rain stays at bay!
