The Six Senses brand is making its London debut at the site of the former department store Whiteleys, in Bayswater. British architectural firm, Foster + Partners, renowned for its eco credentials is sensitively restoring this landmark into a mixed-use development known as The Whiteley, housing the UK’s flagship Six Senses hotel. Slated for a 2023 opening, the 110-room hotel will have a spa, a members’ club and 14 luxury residences that echo the brand’s wellness and sustainability initiatives. Inspired by the building’s origins, the modern streamlined interiors offering a nostalgic nod to classical detailing and art deco are being designed by internationally celebrated AvroKO in conjunction with executive architects EPR.
The residences are a natural extension with a more homely touch. Residents will have access to all the hotel amenities including a new social and wellness members’ club, as well as the 24-hour concierge and housekeeping. Redefining a conventional approach to wellness the social club will feature a central bar and lounge, coworking spaces, a restaurant and wellness rooms, to encourage growth, reflection and reconnection. Homeowners will be offered the opportunity to add their homes to the hotel inventory for up to 90 days a year, offering a flexible way to generate income and offset costs.
