South Carolina’s shores look set to receive the Six Senses treatment after the brand announced a new development spread across three of the state’s most southerly inhabited islands.
Spanning Hilton Head, Daufuskie and Bay Point islands, Six Senses South Carolina Islands will be home to an eco-conscious resort, spa and residential community from 2026.
Daufuskie Island is the focal point of the masterplan, where guest rooms, private suites, cottages, village homes and branded residences will be spread across 460 acres.
Highlights of the resort include an all-day restaurant, specialty eatery and bar, beach club and pool grill, as well as special pop-ups that showcase local and regional cuisine.
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy watersports, sailing and fishing as well as a championship golf course, and for those looking to slow down, Six Senses Spa offers yoga, meditation and mindfulness alongside signature treatments.
On Bay Point Island, Six Senses will partner with developer Whitestone Resources to create a sustainable community of branded villas powered by renewable energy.
The third island of Hilton Head — home to Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport — will be designated as the welcome hub for Six Senses guests and residents before they are taken on a hybrid yacht or electric boat to their lodgings on the other islands.
