The Titanic Memorial Cruise, which set off from southern England on Sunday April 8 to recreate the Titanic’s infamous voyage, has been delayed at sea due to a medical emergency on board.
The MS Balmoral departed from southern England on Sunday, making a short stop at Cobh in Ireland before heading across the Atlantic to the spot where the Titanic hit an iceberg in 1912. The voyage was meant to last 12 days, however on Tuesday the captain announced the ship would be delayed due to a passenger needing emergency medical treatment, resulting in a helicopter air-lift to hospital.
The Titanic Memorial Cruise honours 100 years since the tragic events of April 15, 1912 and is carrying 1,309 passengers including some of the relatives of the 1,500 that perished on the RMS Titanic.
