Purveyor of luxury adventure travel Wildland Adventures is celebrating 30 years of going off the beaten track while remaining mindful of conservation. A newly announced excursion wraps both luxury and preservation into one package, the Zimbabwe Conservation Safari.
Including stays at destinations such as Zambezi Sands River Camp, where elegant accommodation is perched on stilts on the banks of the river, over nine days conservation-minded travellers will get hands-on in local villages, work with researchers and game wardens, and even provide water for elephants while on a pump run in the Hwange National Park.
In addition to the in-depth learning experience, US$700 of the $5,575 per person package price will be donated to a local social-services organisation aiding the communities visited. This one-time opportunity may not be taking place until June 13-21, 2018, but with space for only 14 guests, it’s sure to fill up quickly.
