A hotel named after its city district that was once rife with pick-pocketting and skullduggery, The Thief has added two new British-styled suites to its selection.
The new guestrooms are a contemporary expression of English craftsmanship, courtesy of the UK’s own Lee Broom and English design firm Conran.
Above the canals of Oslo’s Tjuvholmen fjord, The Brit Suite and The Broom Suite each occupy 75 square metres on the hotel’s 6th and 7th floors, with an edgy take on luxury living – including handmade vintage pieces.
The sixth and seventh floor suites were also influenced by Karina Holmen and the Norwegian interior design group ESKE, who helped curate the furnishing.
The Brit Suite takes the lead from the retro glam of London’s Carnaby Street in the swinging sixties, with blue hues and greys. The suites is supplied by Content by Conran, with a porcelain chandelier is suspended over a cubist coffee table.
Using exclusive pieces from his own upholstery line, Quilt, Lee Broom styled his The Broom Suite in a more understated 1950s style – with geometric shapes and a quilting process used by couture houses Chanel and Dior.
