The Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, has reopened its frosty doors for its 25th winter season.
The property is constructed anew each year, carved out of roughly 1,500 tonnes of dredged river ice, and has become a must-visit destination on holidaymakers’ bucket lists the world over. It has even let guests design their own suite, at significant cost.
This year, to give a greater insight into the construction process, the hotel has released an intriguing timelapse video that shows the making of the hotel’s ICEBAR - itself a popular attraction in its own right that has been replicated in cities around the globe.
