The picture-perfect islands of the Maldives are the ideal antidote to post-lockdown blues, and few are as picturesque as the palm-covered island of Hembadhu, where Taj Coral Reef Resort & Spa, Maldives offers a private sanctuary for discerning travellers yearning for an island escape.
Home to 62 elegantly appointed beach villas and gorgeous overwater villas, the resort sits atop a 1,000-year-old coral atoll surrounded by the dazzling blue waters of the Indian Ocean and acres of palm-lined beach: the ultimate hideaway for families, couples, honeymooners and divers.
This idyllic island retreat in the North Male Atoll, one of the most iconic in the Maldives, has recently launched a new dine-around package to provide an all-inclusive guest experience, affording visitors the luxury of being able to enjoy every minute of their stay without having to worry about additional costs.
“Guests post pandemic are looking at confined freedom: a stay with precautions and freedom for the family. Island holidays provide both,” says Samir Khanna, general manager of Taj Coral Reef Resort & Spa, who has been based on the island for the last six years and worked with Taj Hotels for 37 years.
“When we engaged with guests across geographies, we realised that guests were looking at a single price tag so that they don’t have to keep working on holiday costs. With one cost, guests don’t have to keep calculating the spend.”
With the new Coral all-inclusive model, guests can choose to dine around at any of the three restaurants: Bokkura, which serves a smorgasbord of international cuisine including contemporary Indian, Pan-Asian and Western; Pizzeria, where authentic Italian pizzas are freshly baked in a wood-fire oven; and Open The Grill, where delectable South American dishes are served in a spectacular setting overlooking the lagoon. Guests can also take advantage of unlimited select beverages at each of the restaurants and a complimentary minibar that’s replenished daily.
Complimentary use of snorkelling equipment means guests can while away their days exploring the house reef and the abundant marine life that lives in the warm shallow waters, or venture further afield and dive down to the resort’s very own shipwreck, which sits on the sea bed 22 metres below the surface.
The all-inclusive programme is available at all room categories, including the resort’s magnificent Nirvana Presidential Suites: lavish 215-square-metre duplex villas with two bedrooms, plunge pools and direct lagoon access – the perfect abode for families looking for
a blissful escape.
