As is de rigueur in the City of Angels, the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City at Beverly Hills is taking its turn to go under the knife.
When the hotel awakens from the anesthesia, the multi-million dollar nip and tuck will have enhanced 363 guestrooms and suites, due to be ready in 2016. The revamp will also see the introduction of two new suite categories, offering a luxe California-inspired experience.
The property, already known for its abundance of outdoor balconies and terraces, will add the spacious Elite Honeymoon Suite to its roster, offering 1,325-square-feet of space that includes a large soaking tub, French windows and views over the Hollywood Hills. The suite has a distinct living and dining areas, a powder room and kitchenette.
With large families and groups in mind, the hotel will also introduce four suites with optional interconnectivity, allowing guests to socialise while retaining their own living quarters.
LA’s own The Design Studio was hired to oversee the room remodelling, taking inspiration for the glamorous surrounds of Beverly Hills. The design team used two colour pallets; soothing greens to symbolise health and a light purple to evoke luxury and royalty.

All guestrooms feature wood-veneered furniture, upholstered headboards and fixtures such as crystal columnar lamps. When it comes to art, there’s no short supply, thanks to the series of abstract ink artworks by Kim Johnson adorn each room. Every luxurious bathroom features separate walk-in showers, a soaking tub and fine lemon verbena-scented bathing amenities from Agraria.
Other suite highlights include the Studio Suite with a working area for business travellers and the Deluxe Terrace Suite with a spacious outdoor area for anyone with a penchant for hosting.
The hotel’s top accommodations, however, are the Presidential Suite and 3,300-square-foot Royal Suite, which includes two bedrooms, two-and-a-half bath, library, full kitchen and wet bar, two LED fireplaces, double walk-in rain shower and whirlpool soaking tub, as well as dramatic LED lighting for when you want to augment the mood.
“We are so excited to unveil the hotel’s redesign and look forward to showcasing our upgraded rooms and suites to our loyal visitors and new guests in this New Year,” said InterContinental Los Angeles at Beverly Hills General Manager Steve Choe. “Los Angeles is a competitive luxury hotel market, and we are confident our new design help ensure that our hotel is at the top of the list for the discerning traveller.”
The redesign to all guestrooms and suites follow the hotel’s renovation to the ground-floor meeting space, including the 4,000-square-foot Grand Salon Ballroom and expansive foyer, as well as the Lobby Lounge, in 2012. The Royal Suite was upgraded in late 2013. A new spa and restaurant concept are also in the works.
