Marco Polo Hotels will launch Niccolo by Marco Polo, a collection of ‘urban chic’ hotels that will be inaugurated by a series of hotels within some of China’s most exclusive neighbourhoods.
The collection is the first new brand named by the hotel group since its inception in 1986 and will open its first property in early 2015 within Chengdu’s new International Finance Square (IFS). A further three hotels will follow in Chongqing, Changsha and Suzhou.
“The current 12 months mark a significant milestone for our company , with the most hotel openings in a decade, including the newest success story, Marco Polo Ortigas, Manila opening on July 9th,” said Stephen Ng, deputy chairman and managing director of parent group The Wharf.
“In addition our spectacular Marco Polo Changzhou set in 19 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens opening in the third quarter of this year, and now our highly anticipated Niccolo Chengdu due to open in early 2015,” he added.
The new Niccolo Chengdu will boast 228 rooms and suites, said to embody the new brand’s mantra, “New Encounters - Timeless Pleasures”.
The hotel also pledges a ‘new breed’ of concierge service with City Insiders, which imparts personalised insider tips to guests, be they fashion or cuisine related.
