Some men want to watch the world burn. And others just want to blow up luxury cars.
In this case, Tyler Shields wanted to douse a pristine Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow in petrol and film it bursting into flames – all in slow motion. The filmmaker and former pro inline skater shot the artsy video in ultra high-def 6K resolution, somewhere in the Mojave Desert.
Whether or not you think blowing up a beautiful automobile has any artistic merit, it’s apparently quite hard to look away.
If you want to see more behind the inspiration and production, Tyler Shields has made an additional behind-the-scenes video. The director reveals an actual controlled explosion at the crux of the video, but it's mesmerising either way - and the super slow-mo effect and classical score both add to the visual spectacle.
